Modernization Plan

Making the system and methods more modern and efficient

Data Informed

Why data? Data informs the HISFA decision-making process and validates a course of action before committing to it. It informs intelligent building solutions. Qualitative and quantitative data paint a picture of real situations and allow strategists and planners to design safe, efficient, and effective schools for keiki and the community.

Prefabricated Construction

Why prefabricated construction? Prefabricated construction is cost-efficient and effective. It refers to creating building components or modules away from the construction site in a manufacturing setting. By standardizing the manufacturing process, materials are efficiently used, economies of scale can be achieved, construction time is cut, and rigorous quality control measures are easily implemented.

Design Guidelines

Why design guidelines? Standardized design guidelines, like education specifications, uphold quality expectations across the state for safety, health, and repeatability. Design guidelines are part of a systems-level (whole picture) approach to ensuring quality control across school sites. Learn more about Education Specifications here.
